My new film,
Paloma and Raúl in San Serriffe, and an accompanying sculptural installation will be on view March 12 through April 4, 2010, at Powel House Museum in Philadelphia. The result of a months-long collaboration with composer Michael McDermott (Mikronesia), and shot largely on 16mm film on location at the museum,
Paloma and Raúl in San Serriffe plays with period settings and characters and has a dance in it.
Join us for a free public reception on March 12 from 5 pm to 9 pm -- Mikronesia performs live at 6 pm!
Paloma and Raúl in San Serriffe is an Independent Project of Philagrafika 2010, Philadelphia's international festival celebrating print in contemporary art, and is presented by the Philadelphia Society for the Preservation of Landmarks and Landmarks Exhibitions: Contemporary Projects. My next project,
Grumblethorpe, is a character-based film that will further explore the dialogue between abstract dance and traditional narrative. The film is slated for production in fall 2010 at the historic Grumblethorpe estate in Germantown, Philadelphia.
